Honorary Members of the IASS

Since 1963 from time to time, the IASS Executive Council has elected individuals with a distinguished record of outstanding achievement in the field of shells and/or spatial structures to Honorary Membership in the Association.  The first Honorary Memberships were awarded in 1962 to the great Italian structural engineer Pier Luigi Nervi and the renowned thin-shell concrete designer and builder Félix Candela. The recipients are listed here according to their years of election. Select the name for more information about the person.
