The IASS has received sad news of the death of Torroja Medalist R. Sundaram on December 20, 2025 at age 90. He was an architect who lead his firm in Begaluru (also called Bangalore), India in the design of thin concrete shells and many other projects. Some of his shell designs are described in the IASS Jubilee Book, "Fifty Years of Progress for Shell and Spatial Structures" (2011). A memorial statement will be published in a future issue of the Journal of the IASS.
